Tessa Bailey is one of my top always buy her books authors. Every single hero and heroine she writes has captured my interest, so I’m very happy they day I stumbled across her writing. I always feel like no hero or heroine will be better than her last but then she writes a new story with characters I fall in love with.

I never thought I would love a character like Duke that didn’t have the typical hero six pack bod but a bit of a bit of a beer belly. Duke is a huge dirty talking bear of a man who is the type of man that made me fall in love with him from the very beginning. I love his protective nature as well as the words he spews out in the heat of the moment. Samantha is so quirky and a bit of an odd ball but she is the type of girl you can’t help but to want to have as a friend or as Duke finds out as a lover. These two believe they are kindred spirits that as major commitment-phobes but when problems in Samantha’s life caused Duke’s fix it personality to come out, then commitment such as marriage is pretty easy to sign up for. What isn’t easy is when real life crashes in and emotions become involved with their explosive chemistry. What will Samantha and Duke do when their marriage becomes more that either one of them expects?

Tessa Bailey had me fall in love with another one of her novels and it’s easy to say this one deserves 5 stars. I would give it more stars if I could. It made me laugh, cry, and had my emotion on a huge rollercoaster. I loved every moment of that rollercoaster! Well done Mrs. Bailey and I can’t wait to read more from you especially after the book handover Worked Up left me with.

This book was the perfect combination of humor, feels and STEAM!

I absolutely LOVED Duke and Samantha.

Duke was a bear of a man with a gentle heart...a nurturer, a protector. And Samantha was quirky and fun (I seriously LOVED Sam's love of corny jokes and bad puns) and just as much afraid of relationships as Duke. And yet when they meet...sparks, fireworks...explosions. The sexual tension between these two is off the charts!

They don't want to be drawn to each other as much as they are....but the pull is impossible. And the reader is sweating it out right alongside them. They try to fight it, but the inevitable is coming....you just have to be patient because the payout is SO WORTH IT!

"Go on, sweetheart. Tell them my name. Loud enough for them to remember it and tell the stories to their friends at breakfast. About the girl in the next room getting it so hard, they had to call security. They'll have no idea I'm the one who worships you. That I would work overtime for a decade just to hear you call me a warrior. Go on. Confuse them. Say my name loud enough that they think you're going to open your legs for it whenever I unzip my jeans. But we both know I'll be begging you to let ME unzip YOURS. You might be the loud one, but I'm your slave."

But as well as these two fit together physically, it's the emotional part that scares the hell out of both of them...because they fit together just as perfectly there too. And I understood both their hesitations. Messy pasts filled with rejection and abandonment would jade anyone...but you can't fight your heart, even when your mind is trying to protect you.

Falling asleep in Duke's unyielding grip hadn't required a moment of thought. She'd just done it. Because it had felt...like a destination."

For a book under 200 pages, this didn't feel rushed. Yes, the marriage of convenience reason was a little thin, but I'll take whatever reason necessary to bring Duke and Sam together...because it's clear from chapter 1 that they just FIT and watching them stumble over unfamiliar feelings is what I love in my romances.

...the girl busted a hole in his gut every time she looked his direction, and at the same time somehow patching up all the holes inflicted over the years.

If you're looking for a quick read that hits all the spots, I can't recommend this book enough! And it can easily be read as a standalone (I haven't read the first two books in this series and didn't feel lost at all).

Sweet Baby Jesus!!

This was such a page-turning reading journey! Sam and Duke have totally melted my heart! They are such an adorable couple! They complete each other perfectly and even if they both started out as anti-relationship kind of people, they soon found out that it takes the right person to come along to make you want to break all your rules. Duke was such a great hero. It was beautiful to see how he took care of his family. He’s a problem solver for the people in his life and you can see that he loves his sisters with all his heart. Even if they mess with his SportsCenter time, they each own a piece of his heart. He’s a teddy bear with a heart of gold and he has a dirty mouth that will leave you in a state of mush! I’m getting chills just thinking about the things he said and did to Sam. *Fans Face* Talking about Samantha. She was amazing as well. Her bad jokes made me laugh out loud and the way she saw Duke as a different hero every time he would do something, it made my heart melt.

This was a super quick read that I devoured in one sitting. No surprises there since it comes from Tessa Bailey. She’s an auto-buy author for me. I would even buy her grocery list to read if it was for sale ... lol!! That’s how much I love her writing style and the incredible characters that she creates. Her characters all have a special place in my heart. Her stories will give you all the feels and they will always end with a HEA. She writes characters that are easy to relate to. That is very important to me because even if I read fiction to escape my daily life, I want it to feel real. And, Tessa Bailey delivers every single time! Even if Sam and Duke fell for each other pretty quickly, it gave me all the feels that a slow building romance usually gives me. I could feel that the bond they created in that short amount of time was going to bring them happiness.

It was awesome to catch up with River and Vaughn. I loved Thrown Down and it always puts a smile on my face when I get a check-in about characters that have brought me so much joy. We get introduced to Duke’s four sisters who are hilarious! I hope we get their stories as well. Renner is also an intriguing character. He’s Sam stepbrother and Duke’s boss. The next book will be about him and I’m nervous and excited for his book. Can’t wait to read it! I highly recommend The Made in Jersey Series if you are looking for a sexy and unputdownable reading escape.
